Despite the long time since the first theories for turbulence have been proposed, the understanding of the dynamics and energy transfer processes in interstellar turbulence is still missing.

In this talk I will briefly review the basic phenomenological theories that describe the interstellar turbulence, and provide some observational evidences supporting these. Statistics of velocity, spatial distribution of matter, and magnetic fields, are key in this understanding.

Finally, I will discuss the possible sources of energy that give rise to the interstellar turbulence."
