La mission 2018 du programme ExoMars prononcera un rover européen et une plate-forme de la surface de Russie à la surface de Mars. Une fusée Proton sera utilisé pour lancer la mission, qui arrivera sur Mars après un voyage de neuf mois. Le rover ExoMars sera voyager à travers la surface de Mars à la recherche de signes de vie. Il prélèvera des échantillons avec une perceuse et les analyser avec les instruments de la prochaine génération. ExoMars sera la première mission qui permettra de combiner la capacité de se déplacer sur toute la surface et d'étudier Mars en profondeur.

The mission goal was originally set for a rendezvous with comet 46 P/Wirtanen. After postponement of the original launch a new target was set: comet 67 P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko.

PLATO (PLAnetary Transits and Oscillations of stars) was selected as the M3 mission of the Cosmic Vision program. Lauch is expected in 2024. Its objective is the characterization of stellar systems and their exoplanets.

The IAS stellar group as well as the exoplanet group  is strongly involved in the ground segment, as well as camera testing and scientific exploitation.

SDO: The Solar Dynamics Observatory is the first mission to be launched for NASA's Living With a Star (LWS) Program, a program designed to understand the causes of solar variability and its impacts on Earth. SDO is designed to help us in understanding the Sun's influence on Earth and near-earth space by studying the solar atmosphere on small scales of space and time and in many wavelengths simultaneously.

OMEGA is the spectro-imaging instrument of the ESA Mars-Express mission, inserted on the martian orbit the 25th of December 2003. The instrument should observe most of the totality of the martian surface from a polar orbit.

JUICE - JUpiter ICy moons Explorer - est la première mission de grande classe dans Vision cosmique 2015-2025 du programme de l'ESA. Le lancement est prévu en 2022 et arrivée à Jupiter en 2030, il va passer au moins trois ans à faire des observations détaillées de la planète géante gazeuse Jupiter et trois de ses plus grandes lunes, Ganymède, Callisto et Europa.

The Sun and its corona as seen by HECOR and HEIT: preliminary results.

Launched on September 14, 2009 from White Sands Missile Range (New Mexico), the Herschel sounding rocket was carrying two experiments with strong IAS participation: HECOR and HEIT.

Solar Orbiter is a mission for the study of the Sun and its heiosphere. It was selected as the M1 mission of the ESA Cosmic Vision program. Launch is expected in 2018.

 

Solar Orbiter will be the first satellite for the exploration of inner parts of our solar system, allowing a continuous observation (in co-rotation) of active regions of the Sun and providing close-in observations of the polar regions of our star.
