Reus Vallis observed by the Mars-Express camera the 15th of january 2004. The zone is ~100 km wide with a resolution of 12m / pixel (source HRSC/ESA)
The Mars Express mission has been launched in june 2003 and injected in a martian orbit the 25th of December 2003. The probe includes several instruments developed for Mars-96. It has been designed by ESA as a spare of the russian Mars-96 probe, lost during the launch the 16th of november 1996. The results obtained by Mars-Express have already strongly changed the ideas on the red planet.
