"Fête de la science" 2017 at IAS (October 15th)

IAS is participating to the national open lab day "Fête de la Science" in the week of October 9th. After visits by high school students, the laboratory will be open for the general public on Sunday October 15th, from 2 to 6PM.

 

 

 

In building 209F:

Workshops (all afternoon):

- Exploration the interior of a meteorite

- Build your own spectroscope

 

Scientific presentations:

14h45 - 15h15: "Travel diary, from Big Bang to stars", Thomas Boutaéron, Edouard Lecoq and Louis Legrand

15h45 - 16h15: "The Sun at fingertips: the Solar Orbiter and Parker Solar Probe space missions", Frédéric Auchère

16h45 - 17h15:  "3600 exoplanets and us",  Marc Ollivier

 

 Visit of the Calibration Station, followed by fun experiments on vacuum and cryogeny: Jérémie Hansotte.

Departure from building 209F at 14h30, 15h30, and 16h30, groups of maximum 20 people.

 

In building 105 (all afternoon):

Workshops :

    Virtual tour of the Martian surface

    Augmented and virtual reality trip to the Sun

    Planeterella : how auroras are formed

 

In partnership with the Science-Art-Society group:

The eye of Mars - Martian curiosity about water, clay, volcanism, glaciation, and storms that mark the Red Planet (Coup de pouce project of La Diagonale Paris-Saclay)

Des Mondes de traverse
Multiple immersive and interactive physical universes, to experience the solar magnetic field and gravitational lensing (Phare project of La Diagonale Paris-Saclay).
