Accessing the OMEGA raw dataset

Raw data

Theses are the raw OMEGA observations (EDR) in PDS3 format. Each observation has a data cube (ORBXXX_Y.QUB) and associated ancillary cube (ORBXXXX_Y.NAV) which contains the geometry information.

Please refer to the software section to retreive the tools to process raw data cubes.

OMEGA footprints (Mars surface only)

You can download the shapefile for all surface Mars observations. Can be directly imported and visualized in GIS software, after selecting a coordinate system for the shapefile (e.g. GCS_Mars_2000).
Each shapefile entry is an OMEGA observation. The metadata per obvservation includes relevant header data from the raw .QUB OMEGA EDR file, as well as geometric and additional information.

Pre-processed data (Mars surface only)

Theses are individual OMEGA observation cubes which have been calibrated to radiance then surface reflectance, accounting for photometric effects, and correcting for CO2 atmospheric absorptions in the NIR spectra as well as scattering from aerosols. Co-registration between the visible (V) and infrared channels (C & L) has also been performed. Contact us for further details on processing.

Phobos observations

Multiple flyby observations of Phobos have been carried out under varying illumination geometry and distance.
