I recommend that you stay in Paris to take advantage of the exciting night
life! The Latin Quarter is both enjoyable and convenient. Below, are
listed
some hotels that are within easy walking distance of the Luxembourg Metro
Station, where you can catch the RER B train to Orsay. Other hotels can be

GETTING TO ORSAY

>From downtown Paris, take the RER B train toward Saint-Remy-les-Chevreuse
(do
NOT take the train toward Robinson). After about a 35 minute ride, get off
at
Orsay Ville. Directions on how to make the 10-minute walk to the Institut
d'Astrophysique Spatiale (Building 121) can be found at the website. A
one-way
train ticket costs about 3 Euros. Depending on your plans, it may be
advisable
to purchase a weekly pass for zones 1-5, which costs about 28 Euros. This
"coupon hebdomadaire" or "carte orange" entitles you to unlimited travel
within
the Paris environs (excluding the airports). Bring a passport-size photo to

affix to the pass.

GETTING TO PARIS FROM THE AIRPORTS

--Charles de Gaulle Airport:
From Terminal 2, go directly to the train station (gare) and take the

RER B train.
From Terminal 1, first take the shuttle bus to the train station.
The ride to downtown Paris lasts about 40 minutes, and a return
ticket
costs about 18 Euros.
--Orly Airport:
Take the Orly Val shuttle to Antony, then take the RER B train.
The ride to downtown Paris lasts about 25 minutes, and a return
ticket
costs about 17 Euros.
