               CALIB directory contents


The CALIB directory contains calibration files for the ISM data base,
various instrumental quantities, and configuration files for some display
systems.
The use of these files is described in detail in the documentation
("DocISM.pdf").

All these files are in ascii tables, although some of them have an
extension ".DAT", normally reserved by PDS to binary tables; the original
names of the files have been retained to preserve compatibility with
previous versions of the data set distributed to Co-Is and guest
investigators. Their detailed format is described in separated labels
contained in the directory /LABEL.
The following files are found in this directory:



1. Dark current files

Data extracted from flight calibration files. The extension reflects the
analogic gain used during acquisition (".dat", ".dg2" and ".dg3" for gain
1, 2 and 3 respectively). The number in the file name reflects the date of
acquisition. Some files may be adapted for use with another session (see
"DocISM.pdf" for the correspondence). Labels for these files are located 
in LABEL/DARK.LBL.

2. Calibration files
 
Various quantities used to calibrate the data files, computed during 
analysis of flight data. Labels for these files are located in 
LABEL/CALFILES.LBL.

 sourvol.det   polynomial coefficients for temperature correction

Quantities computed during analysis of flight data. Labels for these files 
are located in LABEL/INSTRU.LBL.

 lambda.dat     wavelength files (micrometers)
 largeurs.dat   spectral width of the channels
 reponses.dat   spectral response for even channels
 reponsesi.dat  spectral response for odd channels

4. Miscellaneous

Data used by plotting software. Labels for these files 
are located in LABEL/UTIL.LBL.
