Mars Express, qui est toujours en op\u00e9ration, est la premi\u00e8re mission plan\u00e9taire de l'ESA. Pour la premi\u00e8re fois, elle a permis d'analyser de mani\u00e8re coupl\u00e9e l'ensemble des enveloppes de Mars, depuis l'exosph\u00e8re et la haute atmosph\u00e8re, jusqu'\u00e0 la surface et la sub-surface, au moyen de six instruments dont le spectro-imageur OMEGA dont l'IAS a la responsabilit\u00e9 globale. Cette mission s'est r\u00e9v\u00e9l\u00e9e sp\u00e9cialement fructueuse ; elle a chang\u00e9 d'importants paradigmes quant \u00e0 la compr\u00e9hension de l'histoire de Mars.&nbsp;<br><br>OMEGA est l'un des instruments qui ont largement contribu\u00e9 \u00e0 ces d\u00e9couvertes ; il a \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9velopp\u00e9 en coop\u00e9ration avec le LESIA de l'Observatoire de Paris\/Meudon, ainsi qu'avec l'IFSI de Rome et l'IKI de Moscou. OMEGA acquiert des \u00ab images spectrales \u00bb dans le visible et le proche infrarouge : de chaque pixel, il donne le spectre de la lumi\u00e8re solaire r\u00e9fl\u00e9chie. Cela donne acc\u00e8s \u00e0 la composition et la structure tant de l'atmosph\u00e8re (gaz, nuages, a\u00e9rosols) que de la surface (min\u00e9raux, glaces et givres), jusqu'\u00e0 une r\u00e9solution spatiale sub-kilom\u00e9trique, \u00e0 l'\u00e9chelle de la plan\u00e8te enti\u00e8re.<br><br>Gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 ces r\u00e9sultats, OMEGA a permis une r\u00e9-\u00e9criture en profondeur de l'histoire de cette plan\u00e8te \u00e0 toutes ses \u00e9chelles de temps, des variations saisonni\u00e8res aux changements climatiques et g\u00e9ologiques. Elle montre en particulier que Mars a connu une \u00e8re tr\u00e8s ancienne durant laquelle de l'eau \u00e9tait stable au voisinage de sa surface, voire \u00e0 sa surface elle-m\u00eame, ce qui pourrait avoir favoris\u00e9 l'\u00e9mergence du vivant ; elle a identifi\u00e9 les sites d'int\u00e9r\u00eat majeur pour l'exploration exobiologique future.<br><br>L'ESA a focalis\u00e9 la c\u00e9l\u00e9bration cet anniversaire sur les cartes min\u00e9ralogiques globales faites \u00e0 partir des donn\u00e9es OMEGA, r\u00e9alis\u00e9es \u00e0 l'IAS et r\u00e9cemment publi\u00e9es dans trois articles scientifiques. <br><br>Articles scientifiques de l'IAS correspondant \u00e0 ces recherches :<br>Carter J., Poulet F., J.-P.
