Very appropriately, in this International Year of Astronomy, A&A celebrated its first 40 years with a Special Issue (A&A, 500, No. 1, June 2009);
a collection of commentaries on the most-cited A&A articles. This year I am celebrating 10 years as an A&A Editor.
This seminar will give a brief overview of the history of A&A and summarise its workings and the A&A editorial process.
