  • C'est le chant du cygne...I have put 3 new papers either already published or being submitted. The accepted paper is about ML estimation. The papers submitted are related to COROT and to solar activity effect on solar eigenfrequencies. It is likely that this is going to be the last update written in ESTEC (March 12, 2004).

  • September 2003

  • As some of you might have heard, I am leaving the Agency for taking a position at the Institut d'Astrophysique Spatiale, Orsay. I will end my duties at ESA on March 31st, 2004. (September 12, 2003)
  • A new review paper has been added (September 12, 2003)

  • February 2003

  • The science pace has slowed down even further (thanks to Solar Orbiter and Corot). I have just put a review paper from SOHO12 and a paper in cooperation with Trevor Sanderson in the non virgo section of the papers (February 27, 2003)
  • The HH#3 page of the Corot reduction group has been updated with new data (February 21, 2003)

  • The science pace is slowing down for sure. I have just updated the list of paper for the LOI and for the reviews (October 1, 2002)

  • New routines have been added in the software zone, mainly for performing Random Lag Analysis.  They shall be used by the Phoebus group for finding g modes (or so we think...)  (February 7, 2001)

  • Numerous papers, written by the curator, have been added to the paper page.  These are the last results from the Tenerife SOGO conference (Octobre 27, 2000)

  • You can access the memoire in French that I wrote in order to get the habilitation.  It is rather big 10 Mbytes, have patience! (July 5, 2000)
  • The defense of my habilitation took place on June 8, 2000 at the Universite de Nice.  You can now download the presentation I made in French for the occasion .  The viewgraphs are in English... (July 5, 2000)
  • The site is alive again.  This period has been dormant for 2 reasons: the caretaker was busy preparing and writing his 'habilitation a diriger des recherches'; and was occupied following football...  More scientific activities are going to take place now. (July 4, 2000)
  • Unfortunately for the rest of the world, we won the Euro2000 championship (July 4, 2000)

  • The revised version of the Phoebus paper has now been resubmitted (February 18, 2000)
  • The revised version of the paper related to splitting measurements is now out (February 8, 2000)

  • The VIRGO site with the new face is 2-year old! The number of hits for 1999 is 4429, on the increase compared to 1998 (January 10, 2000)

  • The Phoebus article on the upper limit of g-mode amplitude has been submitted to ApJ.  You can get either as a compressed file or a pdf file (December 1st, 1999).

  • A new article is out of production.  It is related to splitting measurements (September 22, 1999)
  • I have put a Quick Time file of the eclipse movie that I took somewhere south of Montdidier.  Digitization, courtesy of Ben Bussey (September 16, 1999)
  • STOP PRESS! Solar-like oscillations have been detected on Procyon.  The paper has been just accepted by Astronomy and Astrophysics (September 9, 1999)

  • Have you ever wondered why the LOI cover was difficult to open?  Now have a look at a paper by a colleague of the Mechanical Section of ESTEC (October 30, 1998).  You can even look at animation of the cover opening!
  • A new 'Aide-memoire' is available for the 2nd g-mode workshop.  I have added the splittings in the list of frequencies. (October 19, 1998)
