Abstract | Local helioseismology is a set of tools for studying the solar interior in three dimensions. The main methods of local helioseismology are time-distance, ring-diagram analysis, and helioseismic holography. Some of the most important physical questions that are currently being addressed with these methods are the nature of the meridional flow and the torsional oscillations, the subsurface structure and dynamics of active regions and sunspots, and the physics of solar convection. |
