Abstract | Seismic maps of the far side of the Sun have proven their capability to locate and track large active regions at the non-visible hemisphere. We present here the possibility of using the average signal from the far-side maps as a proxy to non-visible solar activity which can complement the current front-side solar activity indexes. A preliminary calibration of the Far Side Magnetic Index in terms of Ly-alpha is presented.
