Abstract | Analysing the dynamics of sunspots is a powerful way of investigating sub-photospheric magnetic fields. The torsional motion of sunspots is investigated by analysing SOHO/MDI continuum images. High resolution images make it possible to compare the torsional oscillatory behaviour of a sunspot, at different distances from the centre of the sunspot. Wavelet spectra are used to study the temporal behaviour of sunspot oscillations. |
