Investigations of the mineralogy on Mars through spectral analyses with OMEGA and CRISM provide information about past aqueous processes.
Recent advances in processing of CRISM images has allowed for refined detection and characterization of aqueous materials on Mars.
Coordinating results from spectroscopic analyses of Mars analogs further enables improvement in understanding the geochemical environments on early Mars.
Dr. Bishop will describe analog studies from the Antartic Dry Valleys, Iceland and Hawaii and how these have aided in interpreting spectral studies of Mars.
